Welcome to BrightonGirl

My Hometown in Photos

Hello from Carol!

My name is Carol Homewood, and you may know me as the founder of the popular Brighton Past Facebook group.

I have been taking photos of my hometown of Brighton since the 1980s, and love sharing them with other people interested in local history. Some of the buildings featured on this site have now been demolished, and many have different usages from when I first captured them on film.

I hope you enjoy browing the site, and that it brings back happy memories.

Demolition & Redevelopment Updates

I have become increasingly interested in visually documenting the changes which are happening to our town.

In my Demolition News archive you can find lots of photos – some taken just in time – of buildings and whole streets which are no longer standing. If you know of a building soon to be lost please let me know.
