Formerly Sherry's Dance Hall. The Grand Concert Hall was built in 1866 on the site of Henry and Hester Thrale's house. Later it became Mellison's Skating Rink. Sherry's Dance Hall opened in 1919. During the 1950s it became the Ritz Roller Rink. The West Street facade was demolished in 1969. The Pink Coconut opened in 1983.

Many a good night spent in there from 1976-80. I have been monitoring it’s demise over the last 10 years plus till very recently, sad. As Sherry’s mark 2, it was the best 1970s club discotheque in Sussex as many will endorse too. Interesting photos.
