The earliest record I could find for The Hat Box was 1912.
14 St Georges Place
C. Baker & Co., a wholesale tobacconists was at these premises from at least 1947 to the late 1950s.

I was kindly allowed to visit and take photos of what little remains of the old Slipper Baths in North Road
The Open Market / Clocktower Pillars
Back in 2012 I took a photo of a marble pillar which was the only thing remaining after the demolition of the Open Market.
