By the 1880s the Gilder family were running this pub. The first mention of the Hampden Arms was in the street directories of 1888. It seems the Gilder family ran this pub up until its closure in c.1970.
Kemp Street. Number 29 was the Blue Anchor pub from at least 1869 up until c.1910.
On the corner of Cobden Road. This was a public house from at least 1881.
This stretch of Ditchling Road from St Peter’s to Viaduct Road was originally called Brunswick Place North.
Listed in the directories from at least 1852. At that time ran by William Marchant.

Work has now commenced on controversial plans to alter the traffic flow and accessibility of the area between St. Peter’s and Pool Valley.

Demolition has started of the old Pink Coconut Night Club.
Built in 1933. Closed as a cinema in the late 1970s, it became a Bingo Hall. This closed in 1997.
