Known to many as "The Northern", this pub closed in 2013, and the building is now in use as a lettings agency.

On the corner of Cobden Road. This was a public house from at least 1881.
The earliest record for the Race Horse Inn is 1882 when it was listed as the Race Horse Tavern run by H Stubberfield.

Demolition has started of the old Pink Coconut Night Club.
Built in 1933. Closed as a cinema in the late 1970s, it became a Bingo Hall. This closed in 1997.
