This tablet commemorates the pier, erected in 1823, and destroyed by storm in 1896
East Cliff 2011
This is where the chains from the Chain Pier were embedded into the East Cliff.

The Chain Pier’s signal cannon is now to be found towards the end of the Palace Pier.
