I was very pleased to see this tablet erected.

One of the two remaining toll booths from the Chain Pier.

This is where the chains from the Chain Pier were embedded into the East Cliff.

Two good close ups of the stumps from the second set of Chain Pier pillars.
A selection of my photographs available mounted from just £10 each.

Work has now commenced on controversial plans to alter the traffic flow and accessibility of the area between St. Peter’s and Pool Valley.

Days are numbered for most of the buildings along Pelham Terrace, Lewes Road.

Demolition has started of the old Pink Coconut Night Club.

Built in 1933. Closed as a cinema in the late 1970s, it became a Bingo Hall. This closed in 1997.
A fantastic place to share your old Brighton pics and memories with other Brightonians.

Great photo of the sundial! When did you take this? I remember finding this way back in 2008, the story of which formed part of my Archaeology degree dissertation. I wonder if it’s still there now?
Hi
I have just seen your photo of the pieces of sun dial from the Chain pier at Brighton.
It was purchased by George Stonor as he proposed to his wife over it. It stood in their garden at West Wickham for some time. Later it was placed on Hilda’s grave In that same graveyard. Some 12 years ago I contacted the vicar and asked permission to have the sun dail taken away and repaired then placed back on the grave.
I was told a relation locally did not want it touched. What a shame its still in that state
